Portraiture and true stories of hope as told by the living descendants

Not many people know that, upon landing at the Cape of Good Hope, slaves were stripped of everything – even their names. As property, many were renamed after the calendar month in which they arrived.

Tragically, the history of South African slavery has been all but forgotten. Created in partnership with the Iziko Slave Lodge Museum in Cape Town, the Slave Calendar holds the portraiture and true stories of hope as told by the living descendants of those who had their first-ever possession taken from them: their names.

Because not a day should pass when we don’t remember our past.

The systematic mapping of the entire journey through the PDJ is central to our way of working... more than just the framework for gathering and organising insights, it helps us to conceive and execute the strategies that place our Pivotal Ideas at precisely the right moment on the journey."
